Triennium 2004

Triennium Is Disciple Chi Rho and CYF youth and their adult sponsors from the Kentucky region.

Triennium Thoughts
by Lauren East, Providence Chrsitian Church

"Only a few of my classmates understood when I said I went to Triennium over the weekend. I guess a mass congregation of youth from all over Kentucky to "Wake Up and Smell the Blessings", out theme for the weekend, was strange to them. Our Friday began with a service of loud and slightly off key singing, complete with synchronized choreography. The message that night was that blessings were all around us, and we invited that weekend to write down blessings in our life and deposit them in the giant coffee cup up front. This led me to be more aware of the blessings around me. Here is the list I came up with: 1) my church family; 2) friends I made at camp that I was getting a chance to see again; 3) waking up that morning, especially since I had stayed up the previous night till midnight talking and having a giid time with the youth group.
The last day came and it hit me how much had been packed into the weekend. Reunions with old friends, catching up, playing games, workshops. I knew that only a few would get what happened that weekend. A few days later I realized blessing don't have to be understood by everyone, just as long as you know the importance. So wake up and smell the blessings in your life, even if no one else gets them."
